After leaving Charleston, Texas, Jess is back on the trail for the next man on his hunt list. Kyle Horton had last been seen in the town of Winston. When Jess finally arrives in Winston, he doesn’t find Horton, but he does find a very attractive woman named Claudia. He immediately takes a liking to her.

While there, he meets a cattle rancher by the name of Marvin Avery. He offers Jess a substantial amount of money to protect him from an old business partner who he claims is attempting to have him killed over past disputes.

Jess doesn’t need the money, but he decides to take the job of protecting Avery for one reason only…to help Claudia financially.

Jess proves his worth by saving Avery’s life several times.
